Baubles, Rouge & Tulle: Product Review – Prrrowl by Benefit

By Anya

I would classify myself as a makeup junkie. I could spend hours wandering around Sephora or Ulta! My vanity is filled with a hodgepodge of products and brands—from MAC to NARS to cheap drugstore finds. One of my favorite brands is Benefit Cosmetics. Last year I discovered its BADgal lash mascara and the high brow pencil. When passing by the Benefit makeup counter recently, I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this new pink and blue dual-ended gem. Upon first glance, I had no idea what the blue end would be. Is blue lip-gloss a new trend? Gosh, I hope not! Maybe it’s blue gel eyeliner?

Prrrowl is a duo: blue mascara topcoat and pink lip-gloss. Rawrrr! It’s the perfect way to add a subtle shimmer as you gear up for holiday party season.

Here’s my take:

The mascara: A bright peacock-blue shimmering topcoat with flecks of gold is designed to go on over your regular mascara. If you’re not into having blue eye lashes, never fear. This topcoat is very subtle, you may not even be able to tell you have it on at first. But when your lashes hit the right light, you can see blue sparkles reflecting. It’s a nice way to brighten your eyes and bring a little extra sparkle without going overboard!

The gloss: The shimmering gloss is a yummy pale pink—a shade that would look good on any skin tone. A closer look shows tiny blue flecks mixed into the formula. Don’t worry, this will not make you lips turn blue! It just adds a fun iridescent shimmer.
