About tkTwinCities

tkTwinCities started out as a simple dream by six young journalists: young people writing for young people. We know what we like. We like to write about what we like. Why not introduce the concept of young people writing for young people to the Twin Cities?

The vision began to take shape, as any good vision does, over numerous happy hours. As the drinks flowed so did the ideas and we began to flesh out tkTwinCities. Over more drinks, those ideas continued to evolve, and at one point there may or may not have been a unicorn involved. Luckily, we waited until the booze had subsided to actually implement our plans, and common sense eventually bested the whimsical unicorn.

Over time, the staff changed, and we got to where we are now with four editors and a group of talented writers taking tkTwinCities to ever-increasing heights.

We are here for you. And we are created by you. We are the young voices of the Twin Cities, and we are a place for the voices to be heard. Do you love the Twin Cities? Tell us why. Have a story idea? Come to us and write about it. Attend a sweet event? We want you to tell everyone about it. We want you to share your stories and we want you to share your ideas.
