Stephani’s love for the written word is shadowed by her love for fashion, style and all things beauty. Countless issues of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and InStyle line her bookshelves next to books on high-end designers, stylists and fashion in general. Her childhood Barbie dolls didn’t have a dialogue or story-line for them as much as she enjoyed accessorizing them.
Baubles, Rouge & Tulle is a place for tkTC readers to get a weekly dose of all things style and beauty so they can sift through what’s right for them and leave behind what’s not.
What is your favorite breakfast cereal? Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Minneapolis or St. Paul? Both! I lived in St. Paul for four years and have worked in Minneapolis and am proud to say I love them both for different reasons.
Why do you write? Other than getting dressed each morning, it’s a way to express myself. From a very early age I loved to write, and unlike my love for the Hanson brothers and my stuffed Cookie Monster doll, my love for writing, reading and learning has grown stronger since I’ve gotten older. I hope the beautiful, glossy pages of magazines never go away, because it would be a sad day indeed if style slaves like myself were forced to obtain the same experience and aesthetic solely from a computer screen.
What do you want to do before you die? Visit London, Italy, Australia and New Zealand.
I can’t [don't want to] live without… Yogurt.
Facebook or Twitter? Puh-lease! Twitter is so the new Facebook. (Disclaimer: Steph does not actually speak like this in real life.)
If I had a million dollars, I would… maybe need a few million for this. Travel the world, save for retirement and go on a (mini) shopping spree. Then start a line of accessories that a portion of proceeds would benefit a needy population.
Minnesota is the coolest state in the U.S. because: we have Minneapolis: a small city that wants to be as big as New York, Chicago or L.A. (but nicer) and St. Paul: a city that wants to be a small town. Plus, “Minnesota Nice” and our wonderful accents.
When I was a kid I used to... Not want to leave the house unless I was wearing a dress.
What is your favorite condiment? Ketchup, hands down.
